**DO NOT PARK IN THE BIG PARKING LOT AT 888 DAYTON ST.  Instead, park in the small parking lot ON DAYTON ST facing east.  It’s adjacent to the High School and across the street from the corner green space.  Look for a row of tall pine trees.  The smaller parking lot is just there!  P.S.  Don’t trust Google Maps.

ENABLE YOUR PERSONAL AND/OR BUSINESS WEB PORTAL

0. You file a personal return. IF YOU ALSO FILE A BUSINESS RETURN, you have a separate portal account for your business. Please repeat the process for both.

  1. Look for the email sent JANUARY to the email address we have for you on file.  YOU MAY HAVE TO CHECK YOUR JUNK OR SPAM FOLDER. It should have been sent from no-reply@securefilepro.com or reception@villageatax.com with the subject “You have a new account with Village Accounting & Tax.”  Click the link in that email to create your password to the portal.
    • IF YOU CAN’T FIND OR DID NOT RECEIVE THE EMAIL, we may not have that information. Call our office 937-751-7375 or email reception@villageatax.com to let us know your name and email. We’ll send the email so you know to expect it. Receiving the email from us and activating it yourself is fundamental for security, and a confirmation we have the correct email address for you.
  2. You’ll be prompted to enter the last 4 digits of your social security number, and create a password.
  3. You’re IN! Done!

OPTIONAL: And after you activate your account, download the APP to your phone. Use it to upload documents into the portal you have on your phone! Search Google Play or Apple Apps for SecureFilePro Drake Tax Software and login with the username, and password you just created, to start uploading your W2s, etc from your phone while sitting on your couch!

NOW THAT YOU’RE IN THE SECURE ACCOUNT PORTAL, HERE’S HOW TO USE IT

On the left see the menu:

  1. Files
    • From CPA – See the files we’ve sent to you, including a fillable pdf of the TAX ORGANIZER FOR THIS YEAR, prior year files, financial statements, etc. Anything we sent to you.
    • From YOU – Click UPLOAD to upload your W2’s, etc. You should also SAVE THE TAX ORGANIZER and upload it after completion. Business owners should upload any requested documents here.
  2. Profile
    • Complete your profile, and for your spouse if married. Don’t forget to save it.
  3. Checklist
    • If we provided a checklist, view and complete it here. If you would like a checklist, please use MESSENGER. Typically the checklist is part of the TAX ORGANIZER PDF waiting for you in the Files section.
  4. Questionaire
    • Beyond the Tax Organizer, we may ask you a few other questions here. Typically the Questionaire is part of the TAX ORGANIZER PDF waiting for you in the Files section.
  5. MESSENGER
    • If you want to ask anything we suggest using the messenger. Email is a habit, but here, all of our communication history will be stored in one place that’s just for us. Let’s keep the conversation going and restricted to the portal! At the end of the day, we are exchanging files and words with no need to do this through any email inbox or otherwise. You’ll receive a short email letting you know there’s something new in the portal, but our communication is restricted and secured there (unlike email).
  6. Signatures
    • If you are e-signing your e-file authorization because you are not physically coming to the office, no problem. Let’s do that here.
  7. Payment
    • Also no problem if you’re not physically coming to the office. Let’s do that here.
